Jordan brand had a very eventful summer with the unveiling of their lineup of forthcoming retro releases. Indeed, dropping alongside models such as the Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan 1 High, and others is the classic Air Jordan 4. Jordan indeed reworked this iconic style into four new variations for its latest “Metallic Pack”. The brand released the new Air Jordan 4 Retro Metallic Pack Purple on May 20th, 2020.
DJ Khaled teased this new capsule collection through his Instagram stories. It involves the “Court Purple”, “Pine Green”, “University Red” and “Team Orange” offerings. The Air Jordan 4 Retro Metallic Pack Purple probably is the most striking of all four iterations, mostly because of its “court purple” accents.
The simplicity of the Metallic Pack Purple silhouette makes it truly adaptable to whatever outfit to ultimately pair them with. It features a crisp white leather body that contrasts with the notes of purple and silver accents. The latter are found on the eyelets and branded areas to execute the theme. The court purple indeed shows in the inner lining, tongue logo and visible Air unit.
Additional highlights on the Air Jordan 4 Retro Metallic Pack Purple include a grid mesh to cover the shoe’s upper. Finally, a reliable rubber outsole featuring herringbone tread keeps the style grounded. In the end, designer Tinker Hatfield truly proves that the Air Jordan 4 still looks just as good as it did when His Airness first made it legendary during the 1989 NBA Playoffs with “The Shot” against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
